Cash and Voucher Assistance to most vulnerable population in Injil district
GSRO collaborated with the Women’s Activities and Social Ser vices Association (WASSA) to implement a Cash and Voucher Assistance (CVA) project in Injil District, Herat Province. The primary objective was to provide immediate relief to 87 vulnerable households by offering $90 cash assistance each. Additionally, the project aimed to strengthen local markets and enhance access to essential goods and services for the beneficiaries. GSRO conducted thorough activities, including village selection, needs assessment, beneficiary registration, and transparent cash distribution. The project successfully reached the target households, providing them with financial support to meet their immediate needs while injecting cash into the local economy. Lessons learned emphasized effective targeting, collaborative partnerships, timely implementation, market assessment, monitoring and evaluation, beneficiary feedback, transparency, adaptability, documentation, and sustainability planning. This project served as a lifeline for vulnerable households and fostered resilience within the community.
