Women Empowerment through Climate-Smart Agriculture and Agri-business
The Emergency Socioeconomic-resilience Assistance for Vulnerability Empowerment (SAVE), funded by CAID/WASSA seeks site investigation to discover the immediate and sustainable livelihood needs and adaptation measures impacted by climate change in 6 districts of Herat province. The project further assesses the impact of recent climate change and drought in certain areas which have caused a shortage of agricultural, livestock products, economic crisis, and unemployment. The project aims to come up with practical solution for households on how to cope up with the crisis and move on to adapting new approaches for cultivation and harvesting for agriculture and similarly for livestock management. CAID / WASSA will use the findings of the research to reduce risk factors that are vital for delivering the factual humanitarian needs to the right people of concern. The project is designed for a period of 5 months.
